No one wants to leave our city. Accompanied by Austin’s growth comes pressing challenges with Health, Housing, Public Safety, and of course, Mobility! Austin is at the beginning of it’s journey of embracing Smart City efforts to tackle these challenges.

The Smart City Case provides UT-Austin undergraduate students the opportunity to emerge themselves into Smart Cities and impact this complex effort effecting the future of their own city.

PROMPT.

Revealed at Kickoff, the prompt asks students to develop a long-term strategy addressing one of Austin’s central challenges, defined by city leaders.

STRUCTURE.

Prompt reveal Friday, October 18th with Pizza.

Competition day Saturday, November 2nd, teams present to panels of judges involved in tech and city issues. Then, finalists present their strategy to attendees and our special finals judges panel for a prize (TBA)!
