Premier Events
The Longhorn Energy Club hosts two premier events per semester. These events are targeted to a broader audience than students and involve multiple student organizations as well as many external guests, including companies, government affiliates, and university administrators. This year, we are proud to announce Texas Energy Innovation Night and the Texas-to-X Energy Forum, two new events created by the LEC.
EnergizeUT: September 2025
The Energy Institute kickstarts the UT student energy scene through an afternoon event packed with luncheons, mixers, resource expos, panels, and presentations. The Longhorn Energy Club will be there!
Texas Energy Innovation Night: October 2025
In a one night special event, the Longhorn Energy Club is bringing together the best minds in Austin to dive deeper into how Texas is leading the global energy transition. This event is community centered and caters to both students and the general public, aiming to show the breakthrough ideas in energy happening on the Forty Acres. Special emphasis is placed on energy technology that is being developed on-campus. We invite research groups, startup companies, government agencies, and recruiters in this special celebration of the UT Austin energy scene.
Texas-to-X Energy Forum: February 2026
The Texas-to-X Energy Forum is a first-of-its-kind workshop and fully organized by the Longhorn Energy Club. Inspired in name by Power-to-X technologies, this one weekend event is dedicated to the incredible stories of innovation and success within the energy sector. Special emphasis is placed on energy policy and how it has been developed around technologies that started here in Texas and changed the world. We extend special invitations to former LEC members and to Longhorn alumni who would like to share their stories from the energy industry.
UT Energy Week: April 6-10, 2026
The University of Texas Energy Week is hosted by the Energy Institute and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Energy Center for Business, Law, and Policy. It is the premier annual event that is one the largest student-oriented energy conferences in the country, drawing hundreds of students, researchers, faculty, energy professionals, and industry leaders from around the world. The Longhorn Energy Club supports the annual Student Energy Research Poster Competition and student-facing networking mixers throughout the event.
