What do I have to do to join LEC?

Just show up for one of our events! We don’t have any membership requirements - all students are welcome to attend any of our events at any time. So if it’s the middle of the semester and you haven’t been to an event yet, don’t feel like it is too late to start showing up! The best way to stay in touch is by subscribing to our mailing list and following us on social media. That way, you’ll always know what’s going on in energy at UT and what opportunities there are.

Does LEC provide professional opportunities for students?

Yes! LEC members have numerous opportunities to meet and interact with industry professionals, enhancing their network and industry knowledge. LEC regularly hosts and promotes networking and recruiting events with hiring opportunities for both undergrads and graduate students! In years past, there have been many cases of summer internships and research opportunities that arose from connections within the club.

How often does LEC organize events?

We typically have three events per month. This includes a general meeting, a Longhorn Energy Briefing, and either a social event or a premier event.
