Call for Support

After a tremendous 2024-2025 academic year, the Longhorn Energy Club is planning to increase the club scope of activities by introducing our own premier events, Texas Energy Innovation Night and Texas-to-X Energy Policy Summit, and the new Longhorn Energy Briefing. To build up our events, we are exploring new avenues for event and club financing by (1) applying to all possible grants and student funding opportunities at UT Austin and (2) opening a call for support from industry.

For (1), we have successfully applied to all available funding at UT and, for the fall semester, have been awarded the UT Green Fund Mini-Grant as well as support for the UT Senate of College Councils and UT Student Government Appropriations. We will apply again in the spring.

With the above funding, we are still looking for additional funding support of $2500 for Texas Energy Innovation Night, $4000 for the Texas-to-X Energy Policy Summit, and $1500 for the Longhorn Energy Briefing (which is stretched out to eight events per year, or $187.50 per briefing).

If you are interested in supporting our club for one of these three events or a combination (which is outside the scope of hosting your own General Meeting), it will help fuel our premier events that can bring together the campus energy community on a much larger scale.
